Presets
The preset menu at the top of the window has three sections:
- Factory: 21 presets meant for playing, with the dry signal on and the echo under it.
- Examples: the listening examples, mostly echo only (dry off) so you hear just what memory returns.
- User: presets you’ve saved.
Every preset is listed with its settings in the preset reference.
Loading
Choosing a preset sets the parameters it mentions and returns everything else to its default, so a preset always sounds the same whatever you were doing before. Session settings are left alone: Memory Budget, Save Memory With Set and the MIDI settings. Loading a preset never touches memory itself.
< and > step through the list.
Saving your own
Click Save…, give the preset a name and, if you like, a description. It is saved as a text file in ~/Music/MINERVA Space Echo/Presets/<name>.txt and appears under User. To remove one, delete the file.
The preset format
Presets are plain text, one key = value per line, using the parameter IDs from the parameter reference. Comment lines at the top are the description. Only settings that differ from the defaults need to be listed:
# Self-match off and a sharp activation power: the bar you just played can't
# answer itself, so memory replies with the closest earlier bar.
capacity = 100
power = 9
self_match = off
echo_level_db = -4Choices can be given by name (sync_mode = Free, trace_division = 2 bars) or index; on/off settings accept on, off, true, false, 1, 0.
The offline renderer mse-render reads the same files, so a preset sounds the same offline as in Live. It also understands timed lines, which change a setting at a given bar (counted from 0, in 4/4):
@8 freeze = on
@8.25 trace_division = 1/2
@2 command = clamp_allThe plug-in ignores timed lines. See Offline tools.
Live’s own device presets (.adv files, saved from the device’s title bar) work as well and store the plug-in’s full state, including memory if Save Memory With Set is on.
