The plug-in doesn’t appear in Live.

Check that it’s installed (/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins or ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins, in Components for the AU and VST3 for the VST3), that Use Audio Units v2 / Use VST3 Plug-In System Folders are on in Settings → Plug-Ins, and click Rescan. For builds without Developer ID signing, remove the quarantine (see Install).

macOS says it can’t be opened or is damaged.

The build isn’t signed with an Apple Developer ID. Use System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway for the installer, or the xattr commands on the Install page for the bundles.

I hear no echo.

Memory needs at least one stored segment, and the echo plays during the next segment: with the default 1-bar traces, wait for two bar lines. Check Echo Level, that Write Gate isn’t above your signal level, that Freeze Memory isn’t on with an empty memory, and the line above the matrix (last: gated means a gate refused the segment). With Self Match off and a one-trace memory there is nothing else to answer.

Nothing is stored (“last: rejected (full)”).

Memory is full and When Full is Reject, or every trace is clamped. Unclamp some, clear memory or raise Memory Capacity.

The echo is out of time.

With Sync = Tempo traces follow the host’s bar grid; make sure the transport is running. With Sync = Free traces start when processing starts. In Rolling mode the echo lags the cue a little by design (the status bar shows by how much).

It’s too dense, or it all sounds the same.

Raise Activation Power so fewer memories answer, turn Self Match off, or lower Max Active Traces. For a blur, do the opposite, and try Blend Domain = Spectral so the blend doesn’t comb-filter.

MIDI notes do nothing.

Use the VST3 (hosts don’t send notes to the AU), check MIDI Note Control and MIDI Channel on the Control page, and that the notes are in range of MIDI Base Note. The MIDI light in the header flashes when a note arrives.

Memory was gone when I reopened the set.

Memory isn’t saved with the set unless Save Memory With Set is on (Control page). Use Save Memory… to keep it as files.

High CPU.

The spectral engine and very large memories cost the most. Lower Spectral Voices or Max Active Traces, or use Blend Domain = Waveform.
