Offline tools
The engine is plain C++ with no plug-in framework, so the same code runs in command-line tools. Build them with the rest of the project (see Development); they end up in build/tools/. For a quick engine-only build: cmake -S . -B build -DMSE_BUILD_PLUGIN=OFF && cmake --build build.
mse-render
Processes a WAV file through the engine exactly as a host would, with a steady clock.

mse-render --help lists every parameter with its range and default. It also reports CPU use (how many times faster than real time, and the slowest block).

Writes deterministic synthetic test material: drums, chords and bass, a melody, clicks on every beat, a mid-file style change and a full mix.

scripts/render_examples.sh build rendersrenders every preset in presets/examples/ (CI does this on every push and publishes the audio on the listening page).
mse-ui-snapshot
Draws the plug-in window to a PNG without opening a window, after playing generated audio through the plug-in. It is how the screenshots in this manual are made.
